Last night, October 8th, 2008, Leonard Cohen and Philip Glass had a conversation, at Stanford's Memorial Auditorium--hosted by the Aurora Forum in association with the Stanford Lively Arts program--about Mr. Glass's theatrical version of Mr. Cohen's book of poetry called Book of Longing.

The evening was moderated by Alan Acosta, who facilitated a really delightful time. Both Leonard and Philip are humble masters of their respective arts. In particular, Leonard was warm, witty, and absolutely wonderful.

Just for fun, I took a little bit of video with my Canon SD 850 still camera from my second row vantage point. (We waited two hours in line to be near the front)....And now, scroll down to see 4 more video snippets.

NO, THE VIDEO ISN'T HIGH QUALITY; AND NO, IT'S NOT EDITED; BUT YES, THE VIDEO WILL GIVE YOU MORE TASTES OF LEONARD COHEN AND PHILIP GLASS. So, if you're a fan, then bite the bone and have a gas.

Hope you enjoy the video!

Thanks, Katrina.

I'm really hoping that the tour comes to the Bay Area, but if not, I go where he goes.

And let me say: Philip Glass was a real pleasure to listen to as well. And I'm really looking forward to tonight's performance of Book of Longing.
