ChiBounding: The Core of Working With Handweights
Most of the sound here is a voiceover, that is, you'll be able to hear my voice loud and clear for the first three minutes at least. I discuss three topics: (1) stretching and centering; (2) the difficulty of 200 reps with 7 pounds; (3) how this kind of owrk, above all else, makes use of and activates your core for the entire bounce.

Hey Jordan!
This is way cool, now I understand what your bouncing is all about! It is so clear to see you actually do it!
Thanks for this great video!
Lisa
Thanks, Binah/Lisa. Just to be clear, though, let me point out that the use of handweights represents about, at most, 1/7th of the time I’m bouncing, and sometimes more like 1/10th, and occasionally, none at all.
That is, running in place, twisting, jumping jacks, self-massage of many types, bouncing on one leg, arm circles, etc., is what I typically spend most of my time on. Handweights usually come near the end, a kind of special heavy-duty treat!
It all makes sense except self-massage. I'm having trouble visualizing that. Can you enlighten me?
i can look to see if i have any older video, or maybe i can do a new shoot this week;
thanks, by the way, for asking; it feels like your inquiry is serious, and i just *love* that, you know, the feeling at the beginning of a wave before the wave really begins to drop (at least when bodysurfing or using a boogey board or a raft as a kid); i think rebounding is ready to go again, whatever it’s called and whoever is putting it out there…
Cool! I watched! I see the sequence now. You're much more flat-footed than I anticipated. I was expecting much more calf usage and higher jumping. Inneresting. I think I get what you mean about the core, too. Before I start any set of lifting of any kind at all, I tighten my abs, and then it becomes a core strengthening exercize. The whole core must engage to support doing the correct form of an exercize. Even minor ones. Pretty cool!

Thanks for your comment, Ww, and I'm glad you think it is cool.
You are right that I am essentially bouncing flat-footed here, but that's because I'm using the weights and my focus here is on upper-body and core. If you look at the G.A.S. (Great Alchemical Sequence) video at http://enlightenmentdotcom.zaadz.com/blog/2006/4/cbl_16_new_g_a_s_video, you'll see that I am hardly flat-footed at all!
And if you download my free book at http://www.enlightenment.com/rebound/allontherebound1.1.pdf, you'll see that I distinguish at least several different ways that the feet can interact with the mat. You can bounce just on your toes, or just on your heels, or land flat-footed and roll up through your heels, and so on.
Okay, I hae to tell you that you've got me bouncing!
I am loving it!!!!!
I have incorporated the hand weights and look out world!
Now, how can I get those abs please?
xo

Glad to hear you are loving it, cree! If you bounce daily or near daily for months on end, my guess is you’ll feel great about your abs. (Mine, however, have gone missing after nearly 3 weeks of vacation and far too many heavy meals!)
I am hooked - You got me - on to bouncing, Bouncy Man…..
Gonna get me a bouncy thingy as soon as I return from Burning Man.
You have touched, moved and inspired me…wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
